Locanda Palazzone

Orvieto, Umbria, Italy

Bordered by Tuscany in the north and lazio in the south, Umbria is a charming province with plenty of pretty hilltop villages including the white orvieto, endless olive groves, lovely restaurants and charming hotels like the Locanda Palazzone which is located in the heart of one of Orvieto’s most exclusive wine estates. The Locanda Palazzone is a beautiful contradiction in terms. It is considered to be one of the oldest hotels in the whole of Italy, having started off life as a 13th century pilgrim’s inn, yet it is also one of the country’s most contemporary accommodations with its Scandinavian-style, minimalist design.
