Corral del Rey

Seville, Spain

Located in the centre of Seville, in the old quarter of Barrio Alfalfa, an original 17th Century Casa Palacio has been meticulously restored and converted into a small private luxury boutique hotel. Offering chic accommodation with a relaxed cafe/bar and private dining facilities, its architectural highlights include the atrium patio, Roman marble columns and the original wooden carved detailing that had existed for hundreds of years. The wonderful Corral del Rey hotel is spread over two buildings, incorporating 12 bedrooms and one Penthouse Suite. The bedrooms are divided into four categories; superior, deluxe, junior suite and penthouse suite with each room having its own individual design created by the renowned Kuky Mora-Figueroa. Each room also comes with a state of the art sound and vision system, as well as luxurious marble and limestone bathrooms with walk-in rain showers and the very best linen and custom made bathrobes on offer. Guests will marvel at the rooftop terrace complete with plunge pool and extended mirador where one can relax with a glass of wine and tapas whilst enjoying spectacular views of the Cathedral and Giralda tower.

When to visit

  • If heat is your thing, visiting in july or august will have you experiencing daily averages of 33 degrees, and up to 41. However spring time, around April is a lovely time of year, with averages of around 25 degrees and flowers setting the groves alight.

Don't miss

  • Inside Seville's main cathedral, at its southern door is the tomb of Christopher Columbus. The monument dates back to 1902 and exhibits four sepulchre-bearers that represent the four kingdoms of Spain at the time of Columbus' 1492 voyage: Castile, León, Aragón and Navarra. Carbon dating and dna testing in 2006 confirmed the mass of bones belong to the Columbus family.
