Château La Thuiliere

Dordogne, France

Artists, intellectuals and celebrities such as Josephine Baker, Coco Chanel, Henry Miller or Jean Nouvel have felt a special attraction towards the beautiful landscapes of Dordogne-Perigord, its gentle climate and the sheer variety and density of historical monuments. In this very region, and less that an hour’s distance from Bordeaux, dwells Château La Thuilière, a 19th century castle full of history, which hosts today probably the most singular and exclusive hotel in the region. In 2008, following two long years of search for the perfect spot, Château La Thuilière was acquired and transformed into a luxury hotel, where all urban comfort could be found; nested in a cosmopolitan and intimate atmosphere, in the middle of the charming french countryside. All rooms are spacious and luminous, with a layout designed for your comfort in every detail. Some of the rooms have an attached bathroom, and in others the bathroom is integrated by the way of architectural modules of various dimensions. Beautiful traces of a noble past can be seen in the marble chimneys, grand mirrors and elegant ceiling mouldings. Three main colours were used for the redecoration: white, black and a hazel nut shade, giving a sense of uniformity and coherence.
