ADLER Historic Guesthouse
Located in the heart of the oldest town of South Tyrol, Brixen, the 15th-century building of the former "Goldener Adler" underwent a total transformation. Christoph Mayr, son of restaurant owner and hoteliers Maria and Hermann Mayr, and his partner Silvana Messner took over the historic house in the second generation. Nowadays, the Adler Historic Guesthouse is an architectural jewel with a minimalistic design, a magnificent rooftop terrace and superb cuisine.

- All of the 43 rooms are designed differently, which makes every room special. Be it by the window view, the vaults, the room height, the size etc. The interior design is minimalistic and bright, natural materials and colours are applied. All the rooms offer air conditioning, a box-spring bed, a rain shower, a hairdryer, Vitalis® care products, a safe, flatscreen TV and a minibar with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
What's the Story
- The house with the land register number 1 of Brixen looks back on more than 500 years of history. As a transit country, South Tyrol was a stopover for most travelers on their way to Rome. The former "Goldener Adler" hosted illustrious guests such as Michel de Montagne, Emperor Maximilian I and Cosimo de' Medici.

- After a city stroll, a hike or a ski day the perfect place to regenerate is the ADLER Spa. The Finnish sauna and the steam bath found their place in the vault rooms, just like the gym. In addition to the relaxing area, the heated rooftop pool is one of the highlights of the hotel.

- Besides the ADLER, Christoph and Silvana also own the restaurants 'Finsterwirt' and 'Vitis' in the sixth generation. The Finsterwirt is one of the first and best-known restaurants in Brixen. The focus of the kitchen lies on regional products. On the ground floor of Finsterwirt, the wine restaurant Vitis offers more than 400 wine labels.

How to Get There
- By car: The journey is very easy via the Brenner motorway southbound, exit Brixen Nord, coming from south exit Klausen and then a few minutes to check-in at the ADLER Historic Guesthouse. The car will be parked in a private garage. An ABL charging station is provided.
- By train: From Brixen railway station it’s a 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes taxi ride.
- By air: The nearest airports are Bolzano, Verona, Innsbruck, Munich, Milan and Venice. A shuttle can be organized.
